自我介紹
In 2001 I came on sabbatical to study mission theology with an international group of six students from different churches around the world. That time I was in Tainan for just six weeks. Mainly Because of my love for the country, its people and strong interest in its life and culture I revolved to return for further study and perhaps take up employment here. I am particularly interested in learning more about the regions of Taiwan and their places of worship.
I am learning Taiwanese and Mandarin through my progress in both has been slow. I believe it is important to learn Taiwanese as this is an important factor in the self-identity of the country and of course many more people in the southern part of the country do speak the language. However I recognize the need to learn Mandarin for day to day conversation and communication.
